An English county house wedding with The Get Downs
In August 2024 we provided live music for Kate & Jack’s English country house wedding at Folkington Manor, Sussex.
This couple’s families feel like old friends - we performed for Kate’s sister’s wedding a couple of years ago, and a few years before that had performed for another wedding for a friend of the family.
In fact, at the wedding we also found out that one of Kate & Jack’s guests had already booked us for their wedding the year after!
The venue
The setting for the day was the beautiful Folkington Manor in Sussex. It’s a spectacular venue, surrounded by trees, and Kate & Jack made use of the chapel and grounds to great effect.
The Jazz Essentials
Kate & Jack’s music package began with The Jazz Essentials, a trio of musicians from the evening band who performed acoustically for the drinks reception on the lawn whilst the rest of the team set up for The Get Downs in the marquee.
The Get Downs
Kate & Jack wanted a fantastic party, so they selected The Get Downs’ 8-piece band featuring male and female vocals. Their first dance was a memorable rendition of In The Stone which started things off in style…
… and then the band got the rest of the guests up on the dancefloor for two high-octane sets of swing and soul music.
It was a fabulous party, as you can tell from these pictures!
